Fresh coconut water ,brought down from the tree by our farm hands , right in front of the guests is our idea of a refreshing welcome drink.
Before the sun reaches overhead ,the children are taken around by our Farm Gurus.
They learn about ‘transplanting‘as they walk
around the paddy fields,and about crop rotation and intercropping by the time they cross the vegetable patches.
They will realise the economic and ecological importance of farm animals ,...
When the sun is at its zenith,our hungry guests will have a spread of simple, healthy and tasty vegetarian fare before them for lunch . Ingredients grown at the farm will be used in the preparation . The children will learn to identify that'these tomatoes came form the patch we visited in the morning and those drumsticks are from the tree next to the cattle shed’.
And after a heavy lunch,as the sun continues its journey ,the children can listen to facts and stories about plants , animals,people ,agriculture and about life itself from the grandmasters at Farm Guru. A session of yoga,under the mango tree,with our yoga guru will relax the body and mind.
And before the sun sets on the farm,they board the bus to go back home .
In addition to a busload of memories, we endeavour to plant in them the seeds of awareness about the importance of the food we eat.
We hope that these seeds will germinate in the fertile young minds and spread the message among family and friends.
